Adult Classes
All of our adult classes take place at Walthamstow Academy and are open to
anyone over the age of 16.
We recognise that adult students have a very different reason for joining a dance class than youngsters. Many people can be nervous joining a new group, especially if they are newcomers to dance. We aim to create a class which is fun to take part in but also has no pressure attached.
From clothing to commitment, you are free to do whatever works for you. To that end, all our classes have the option of paying drop in or committing to a block.
ADULT TAP (currently closed due to maternity leave)
Our Adult Tap classes take place on a Wednesday evening at Walthamstow Academy.
We have a beginners level class 7.00 - 8.00pm followed by a general level class, which is suitable for those who have some previous experience, 8.00 - 9.00pm.
The classes cost £8.40 per session drop in and require no commitment or advance booking. If you want to
attend regularly, you have the option of purchasing a block of 6 classes at a reduced rate of £44.40 and you have twelve weeks to use those classes.
ADULT BALLET
We have two adult ballet classes at Walthamstow Academy on a weekly basis. We have a Beginners / Improvers ballet class on Tuesday evenings 8.00 - 9.00pm. This class is designed to introduce you the basics movements and technique of ballet whilst giving you the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of dancing and keeping fit.
Tuesday classes cost £8.40 per class or you can purchase a block of 6 classes for £44.40 and you have twelve weeks to use those 6 classes.
We also have a General / Elementary level ballet class on a Monday evening 7.30 - 9.00pm. This class is for those who have had previous experience with ballet. All classes are taken at a steady pace following the regular pattern of barre work followed by centre work and turns, ending with small jumps and big leaps.
These Monday classes take place throughout the year including half terms and school holidays (but excluding Bank Holidays) and cost £10.50 drop in and £57 for a block of 6 classes which you have twelve weeks to use
