Children's ballet classes start from 2 years old  in Walthamstow, East London.

At the early stages, ballet classes are full of fun – using imaginative and creative movement to provide an exciting way of discovering dance.

As the pupils progress, the classes become more structured and by the age of 6, the pupils are offered the opportunity to be entered for examinations if they wish.

Drawing on her wealth of experience from teaching all age groups, Julia makes classes for youngsters fun and exciting through the use of imagination and creativity. She always strives to instil a love of movement and music which will develop through training into the technique required to be successful as a ballet dancer as the students mature.

The Royal Academy of Dance is widely recognised as the world’s leading examinations board in ballet training. It offers an internationally recognised portfolio of examinations and assessments which is designed to motivate and encourage students of all ages and levels of ability through a systematic measurement of progress and attainment.

Mulberry School of Dance uses the RAD’s examination structure to provide an opportunity for pupils to have a strong schooling in the art and technique of ballet.

Because of the high standards required by the RAD, examinations will take place at the teacher’s discretion. When preparing for an examination, pupils must attend two classes per week in the term leading up to the exam. This will help to ensure that the pupil’s syllabus knowledge is thorough and secure, and will also help to build up strength and muscle memory. All of this will boost the pupil’s confidence which in turn will help them to perform to the best of their abilities in the examination.

We feel that this clear, focused structure provides the best opportunity for progression and enables the pupils to achieve their potential within ballet.
